After learning the harmful impact eating animals has on the plant, co-founder Kelly Pan decided to transition to a plant-based diet. But as an avid sushi-lover, she was disappointed to find that there were few plant-based alternatives to seafood. So she teamed up with a computer scientist and biochemist to create a food technology platform that can produce plant-based whole cut seafood that replicates the texture, flavor and satisfaction of the real thing. Their signature ‘Impact Tuna’ is made of pea protein, potassium-rich beet juice and algae, which provides omega-3 fatty acids, just like fish.
